Scarborough Historical Society

Serving Scarborough Since 1956
Scarborough, Ontario, Canada

Highland Creek Heritage Festival June, 2008

The Scarborough Historical Society (Ontario) has celebrated and preserved the history of our community since its first meeting in 1956. The Society’s mandate is to preserve, promote and stimulate an interest in the history of Scarborough. This is a community built by the efforts of immigrants who overcame many challenges to prosper here. It continues to develop and grow as new waves of immigration bring an exciting diversity and new perspectives to the continuing story of Scarborough.

The Scarborough Historical Society is extremely active and has one of the largest memberships in the province. Our monthly programs cover a wide range of topics and draw a large and enthusiastic audience.

Our members are passionate about documenting, preserving and promoting all facets of the history of Scarborough from its beginning to our most recent past. Whether it’s built and natural heritage, genealogy, artifacts, archival documents or social history we strive to protect and preserve all aspects of our history.
